Translation of socio-political texts

Socio-political text translation. The results of political text translation are articles in newspapers and on news sites, interviews on TV channels. Public political translation provides information about events in the surrounding world and politics for heads of state, politicians, public figures and ordinary citizens. Translation of political texts is close to working on fiction. It contains an emotional component, comparisons, idioms, metaphors, humorous and ironic elements. But the main thing is the political orientation of the information, the abundance of special terms concerning political and public life, names of organizations, institutions, programs, parties. Public political translation should ensure the preservation of political orientation of information, accurate transfer of content and emotional elements. To train a professionally literate specialist  along with reading, speaking, listening and writing, translation is an independent type of speech activity of students and is a means of consolidation of linguistic (lexico-grammatical) material from foreign language to native language and from native language to foreign language. Translation training takes place on the basis of not only educational texts on this or that topic, but also texts of socio-political nature, the number of which in the media is very large. They include speeches of state, party and public figures, various articles and publications of international, governmental and public organizations. They contain information of leading economists about the activities of international financial organizations, reflect the real world of business and offer a wide palette of views and opinions on certain political events. On the other hand, the translation of socio-political texts has its own peculiarities, which we will dwell on in detail.
